Standard Chartered generally follows industry-standard requirements for its credit cards, with a few lenient elements to make its cards more accessible to people:

  • The Applicant has to be 21-65 years old with a stable monthly income
  • The Applicant should be from a city or location where Standard Chartered Bank’s credit care services are available
  • The applicant needs to have all the necessary documents

Documents needed:

  • Identity Proof: PAN Card, Government ID, Voter ID Card, Passport or others
  • Address Proof: Bank or credit card statement, rental agreement, electricity or utility bill, phone bill, driving license, passport, or any other document that lists your proper residential address

Fees and Charges

So the Standard Chartered Platinum Rewards card seems like a good bet so far, but you need to be clear of the fees and other charges involved.

  • A joining fee when you first apply for a credit card. The joining fee is INR 399
  • Zero membership fee after the initial year, but the bank will charge an INR 750 additional yearly membership renewal fee from the second year onwards
