How to download your EPF passbook
- Activate your UAN if you haven’t already.
- Go to the EPFO passbook portal (passbook.epfindia.gov.in) or use the UMANG app.
- Log in with your UAN and password.
- Select the relevant member ID (each job has one under your UAN).
- View or download the passbook as a PDF.
What the passbook shows
- Employee contribution (your 12%).
- Employer contribution (split between EPF and the EPS pension).
- Interest credited each year.
- Opening/closing balances per financial year.
Common issues
The passbook may take a few hours to be available after UAN activation. If a job’s contributions are missing, the employer may not have remitted them or the member ID isn’t linked to your UAN — raise it with the employer/EPFO. If you changed jobs, transfer old PF so all balances consolidate.
