IndiGo Axis Bank Credit Card Review (Base & Premium)
The short version. These are IndiGo’s co-branded cards with Axis Bank, built entirely around IndiGo’s BluChip loyalty currency. There are two variants: an accessible ₹799 base card for occasional IndiGo flyers, and a ₹5,000 Premium card for frequent flyers who want accelerated BluChips, more lounge access and milestone bonuses. If IndiGo is your default airline, the maths can work well; if you fly mixed carriers, a general travel card may serve you better.
Fees & charges
| Charge | Detail |

| Base card fee | ₹799 + GST (joining and renewal); no fee waiver |

Rewards & benefits
Both cards earn IndiGo BluChips, which you redeem towards IndiGo flights:
Base variant
- 3 BluChips per ₹100 on IndiGo channels (flights, add-ons).
- 2 BluChips per ₹100 on groceries and dining.
- 1 BluChip per ₹100 on all other spends.
Premium variant
- Up to 23 BluChips per ₹100 on flight bookings made on IndiGo channels.
- 3 BluChips per ₹100 on grocery, dining and hotels.
- 2 BluChips per ₹100 on all other spends.
- Milestone bonus: an extra 5,000 BluChips voucher at each of ₹2L, ₹5L, ₹8L and ₹12L annual spend.
Eligibility & documents
Standard Axis Bank credit-card eligibility applies: resident Indian, salaried or self-employed, within Axis’s age and income norms, with PAN and Aadhaar/KYC. The Premium variant naturally requires a higher income profile than the base card.
Who it’s for
Where it shines
- Strong BluChip earn on IndiGo spends (up to 23/₹100 on Premium)
- Premium adds international lounge access and big milestone bonuses
- Base card is affordable at ₹799 for occasional flyers
- RuPay option enables UPI-linked spending
Where it falls short
- Value is tied to IndiGo — weak if you fly other airlines
- Base card has no fee waiver
- Premium ₹5,000 fee needs heavy IndiGo spend to justify
- BluChips are most useful only for IndiGo redemptions
How it compares
The choice is really base-vs-Premium by how much you fly IndiGo. Occasional flyers should take the ₹799 base; anyone spending lakhs a year with IndiGo as their main airline gets far more from the Premium’s accelerated earn and milestones. If you fly multiple airlines, compare against our best airline credit cards and best travel credit cards guides, and note IndiGo also has co-branded options with other issuers covered in our IndiGo IDFC FIRST review.
Verdict
The IndiGo Axis cards are a clean, focused pair for IndiGo loyalists. The base card is a sensible low-cost entry for occasional flyers, while the Premium is a genuine frequent-flyer tool if IndiGo dominates your travel and spend. Outside that loyalty, a flexible travel card will usually beat them. Our score: 7.5/10.
