SBI Tata Croma Credit Card Review 2026

SBI Card’s Croma co-brand (officially the Tata Croma Titanium Card) gives 1.5% value back at Croma and cromaretail.com, up to 5% value back at Tata outlets (Tata CLiQ, Westside, Tanishq, etc.), 3X Empower Points on Departmental + Grocery stores, and 1 point per ₹100 on other retail. Not the flashiest card in the SBI lineup, but a genuine value-add for households who make big-ticket electronics purchases at Croma 2-3 times a year.

Reward structure — how Croma Points work

Croma stores (in-store and online at croma.com)5% cashback₹500/month
Dining, grocery, movies2% cashback₹300/month

Cashback crediting: Cashback is credited to your Croma wallet (in Croma Points, 1 Point = ₹1) within 45 days of the statement cycle. Croma Points can be redeemed against future Croma purchases at in-store or croma.com, but cannot be withdrawn as cash or statement credit. Minimum redemption: 100 points.
Croma is now part of the Tata Neu ecosystem — you can also earn NeuCoins on the same Croma purchase if the account is linked. This creates double-earning potential on big-ticket electronics.

Welcome benefit

  • ₹500 Croma voucher credited within 30 days of first transaction
  • Additional 2x cashback promotion on first Croma purchase within 60 days
  • Welcome value effectively offsets the joining fee entirely

The Croma cashback math — reality check

The 5% cashback is capped at ₹500/month — which means the accelerated rate only applies to the first ₹10,000 of monthly Croma spend. Above that, further Croma purchases earn only the base 1%.

For most households, this cap works out fine because Croma shopping is typically episodic (a refrigerator purchase, then nothing for 8 months). In months when you buy a ₹40,000 TV, your effective rate works out to: ₹500 cap (5% on first ₹10K) + ₹300 (1% on remaining ₹30K) = ₹800, or 2%. This is still competitive for electronics but well below the headline 5%.

Where the SBI Tata Croma Card falls short

5% cap of ₹500/month is tight given Croma’s typical ticket sizes. Any single purchase over ₹10,000 effectively returns less than 5%.
Cashback is Croma Points only — not statement credit or bank transfer. If you stop shopping at Croma, earned value becomes stranded.
1% on general spend is below most universal cashback cards. This is strictly a Croma-primary card.
No lounge, insurance, or lifestyle benefits.

If you’re buying ₹40,000+ of Croma electronics per year, the Tata Neu Infinity HDFC RuPay’s 5% NeuCoins (uncapped) delivers materially better value despite the higher fee. The SBI Tata Croma’s advantage is that its first-year welcome voucher covers the joining fee and it’s simpler to manage for occasional Croma shoppers who don’t want to engage with the broader Tata Neu ecosystem.

Bottom line — should you get it?

The SBI Tata Croma Credit Card makes narrow sense for someone who buys Croma electronics 2-3 times a year and values the straightforward 5% capped cashback without having to engage with the broader Tata Neu app. The ₹500 welcome voucher + fee waiver on ₹1 lakh spend means first-year ROI is typically positive. However, for anyone who already has or is considering a Tata Neu HDFC RuPay card, those deliver the same (or better) Croma value plus broader Tata-brand rewards and UPI integration.

Skip this card if (a) you already hold the HDFC Tata Neu Plus / Infinity RuPay — the Croma earning overlaps, (b) your Croma spend is under ₹20,000/year — the fee waiver is harder to hit and the effective reward is limited, or (c) you want cashback redeemable as cash or statement credit — Croma Points are ecosystem-locked.

Verdict 6.8 / 10

A focused but narrow co-brand card. The HDFC Tata Neu Plus RuPay at the same fee offers broader value. Pick the SBI Tata Croma only if your shopping pattern is Croma-only and you prefer the simpler SBI card interface.
