AU Bank LIT Credit Card Review
AU Small Finance Bank · Lifetime Free · Customisable feature packs
Jump to section
TL;DR
The AU Small Finance Bank LIT (“Live It Today”) Credit Card is the only credit card in India that lets you switch individual benefits on and off through a mobile app and pay only for what you actually use. The base card is genuinely lifetime free — no joining fee, no annual fee. On top of that, you activate “feature packs” via the AU 0101 app starting at ₹49 per 90 days (the Fuel Surcharge Waiver pack is the cheapest entry point). Other packs include up to 10× Reward Points on online + offline transactions, accelerated cashback on groceries / apparel, OTT bundles (3-month ZEE5 + Amazon Prime), milestone cashback (5% + 2% on retail spend at ₹199). And a ₹200 Amazon Pay e-gift voucher for ₹50. AU’s official headline is “Save up to 7× the amount you pay for features”, with up to ₹24,000 per quarter in benefits available across the full pack catalogue. The model rewards active management: buy a feature for the 90 days you’ll use it, and turn off auto-renewal when you won’t. If you want a fixed-fee, set-and-forget card, look elsewhere.
Pros & cons
- Genuinely lifetime free base card — no joining fee, no annual fee, no hidden recurring charges if you don’t activate any packs
- Pay-per-feature model is unique in India — buy a benefit for a 90-day period (it can’t be switched off within the period; you can stop auto-renewal)
- Feature packs start at ₹49 per quarter (Fuel Surcharge Waiver is the headline ₹49 entry point)
- Up to 10× Reward Points on online and offline retail transactions when the relevant pack is active
- OTT features (with spend conditions): 3-month ZEE5 + Amazon Prime memberships
- Milestone cashback pack: additional 5% + 2% cashback on retail spends, activated at ₹199
- ₹200 Amazon Pay e-gift voucher for ₹50, unlocked only after ₹10,000 spend within the 30-day cycle
- 1% fuel surcharge waiver on ₹400-₹5,000 transactions when the Fuel pack is on
- Add-on cards available; both Salaried (21-60) and Self-Employed (25-65) eligibility
- Active management required — features auto-renew every 90 days, so if you forget to turn auto-renewal off you can either miss benefits or pay for unused features
- Pack catalogue and pricing are revised periodically; always cross-check the live AU 0101 app before banking on a specific feature
- Not a true premium card — no bundled lounge access (domestic visits cost ₹399 each, max 2 per 90 days), no concierge, no air accident cover bundled into the base card
- Reward points are AU’s in-house RPs (verify current redemption rate in the AU 0101 app); no airline / hotel transfer partners
- Pack benefits are typically capped (per quarter or per pack) — high-volume users may hit caps quickly
- Every feature runs in 90-day periods and auto-renews unless you turn auto-renewal off — you can’t switch a feature off mid-period

Feature packs
You buy features in the AU 0101 app. Each one lasts 90 days. Prices below are as listed by AU in October 2026; AU revises the catalogue, so confirm the price in the app before you pay.
| Feature | Price (90 days) | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Fuel surcharge waiver | ₹49 | 1% waiver on fuel transactions of ₹400–₹5,000, up to ₹1,500 per 90-day period |
| 5X reward points | ₹199 | 5X points on eligible retail spends |
| 10X reward points | ₹299 | 10X points on eligible retail spends |
| Milestone cashback | ₹199 / ₹299 | 5% or 2% cashback when you hit the spend milestone. AU’s own pages differ on the exact thresholds and caps, so read the feature terms in the app before activating |
| Grocery / apparel cashback | See app | 5% cashback on the chosen category, with a cap |
| Airport lounge | ₹399 per visit | Domestic lounge visit, up to 2 per 90-day period |
| OTT memberships | ZEE5 ₹99 + GST; Amazon Prime ₹299 + GST | 3-month membership; a penalty applies if your 90-day spend falls below ₹5,000 (ZEE5) or ₹10,000 (Prime) |
| Amazon Pay voucher | ₹50 | ₹200 Amazon Pay e-gift voucher, unlocked after ₹10,000 spend within the 30-day cycle |
Base rewards
Without any feature, the card earns 1 reward point per ₹100, up to 10,000 points per statement. Fuel, rent, education, government payments, wallet loads and cash withdrawals earn nothing. The 5X and 10X features multiply this base rate.
AU does not publish a fixed rupee value per point in its public documents. Check the redemption catalogue in the app first: the 5X and 10X features only pay off if your spend in that 90-day period, multiplied by the point value, comfortably exceeds ₹199 or ₹299.
Usage terms worth knowing
- Features are bought for 90 days at a time and auto-renew. If you only want a feature for one quarter, turn auto-renewal off right after you buy it.
- A feature cannot be cancelled for a refund within its 90-day period.
- Some features (OTT memberships, the Amazon Pay voucher) carry spend conditions — missing them can cost you a penalty or the benefit.
- Excluded categories (fuel, rent, education, government, wallet, cash) earn no points even with 5X or 10X active.
Who it’s for
- You want a lifetime-free card and are happy to pay small amounts only in quarters when you’ll use a benefit
- Your spending is lumpy — a big shopping or travel quarter followed by quiet ones
- You’ll actually check the app every 90 days
- You want a set-and-forget card — auto-renewing features can quietly cost you money
- You want bundled lounge access or travel insurance on a premium card
- Most of your spend is rent, fuel or bill payments through wallets, which earn nothing
Apply & cancel
You can apply on AU Bank’s website or in the AU 0101 app. Approval depends on AU’s credit assessment (salaried and self-employed applicants are both eligible). To close the card, clear the outstanding balance and request closure through the app or AU’s customer care; switch off auto-renewal on any active features first.
Verdict
The LIT card is a sound free base card with an unusual twist: you rent benefits 90 days at a time. That works well for disciplined users who switch on the 10X points or fuel waiver only when they know a heavy-spend quarter is coming. It works badly for anyone who forgets — auto-renewal means unused features keep charging you. Check each feature’s terms in the app before you pay, because AU revises prices and conditions regularly.
