The Axis Reserve is Axis Bank’s ultra-premium card, offered by invitation. It is a lifestyle card first — unlimited lounges with guests, extensive golf and hotel memberships — with a moderate reward rate.

Its points transfer at 5:2 to most partners, so headline percentages based on ₹1 a point overstate what most holders get.

In short: A ₹50,000 invite-led card (waived at ₹35 lakh) with 15,000 activation points, 15 EDGE points per ₹200 (30 on international), unlimited lounges with 12 guest visits, up to 50 golf rounds and hotel memberships. Real reward value is about 3% at 5:2 transfers; buy it for the privileges.
What we like
  • Unlimited lounges plus 12 guest visits
  • Up to 50 golf rounds a year
  • Club ITC Culinaire, Accor Plus and Club Marriott memberships
  • 2X points on international spend
  • Forex markup about 1.5%
Watch out for
  • ₹50,000 fee unless you spend ₹35 lakh
  • No renewal points since April 2024
  • Transfers mostly 5:2, so points are worth about ₹0.40
  • 2X international capped at your monthly credit limit
  • By invitation only

Transfers: 5:2 for most partners, 5:1 for reduced-tier partners. Annual caps: 1 lakh points (Group A) and 4 lakh (Group B).

Axis changes in 2026: from 28 Aug 2026 Priority Pass no longer works at domestic Indian lounges on Axis cards (use the card and boarding pass instead), gift cards and tolls earn nothing, and the markup on overseas transactions billed in rupees changed. Axis also reshuffled its airline and hotel transfer partners several times between April and September 2026 — check the current partner list before transferring.

Worked example: Spend ₹3 lakh a month in India and ₹50,000 abroad (₹42 lakh a year). You earn about 2.7 lakh + 90,000 = 3.6 lakh points a year, worth about ₹1.44 lakh at 5:2 to a partner mile worth ₹1, and the fee is waived. Below ₹35 lakh a year you pay ₹59,000 including GST, which the points alone do not cover.

Axis Reserve points calculator

15 points per ₹200, doubled on international spend (up to your monthly credit limit). Excludes the 15,000 activation points. ₹0.40 assumes a 5:2 transfer to a partner mile worth ₹1.

What earns nothing

Axis’s standard exclusions apply; gift cards and tolls earn nothing from 2026.

Final verdict

A privileges card rather than a rewards card. Worth it for golfers and frequent travellers who clear ₹35 lakh a year; others get more from Magnus for Burgundy.
