Who the Kotak Mojo Platinum is for

Urban professionals (9-metro-city limitation) spending ₹15-30K/month online with ₹4L+ income. The 2.5× online + up to 8 spend-gated lounges + Y1 milestone bonuses deliver ₹6-10K value on ₹1K fee. Hits sweet spot for mid-income online shoppers.

Not the right card if: you live outside the 9 eligible cities (Mojo simply won’t issue to you), OR you shop primarily at named partner brands (HDFC Millennia gives 5× on 10 brands vs Mojo’s 2.5× uncapped). Also weaker fit for offline-heavy spenders.

How to apply & how to cancel

Apply: Kotak no longer accepts new applications for Mojo Platinum. Verify eligibility for your city first. Approval 3-5 days.

Cancel: Call Kotak helpline (1860 266 2666). Clear dues; redeem Mojo before closure.

Final verdict

Kotak Mojo Platinum is a solid ₹1,000 entry-mid card with a key differentiator — up to 8 spend-gated domestic lounge visits/year (spend-gated since June 2025, like most cards at this fee). The 2.5× uncapped online + Y1 milestone bonuses make this attractive for moderate online shoppers. It is now closed to new applicants.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mojo Platinum really unavailable outside 9 cities?

Yes — Kotak explicitly limits Mojo Platinum issuance to Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi (including Gurgaon/Noida), Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune. Applications from other cities are typically rejected.

What is the 2,500 Mojo quarterly milestone?

In Year 1 only, spending ₹75,000 in a calendar quarter earns 2,500 bonus Mojo points. Works for 4 quarters = up to 10,000 Mojo bonus in Y1. Does NOT continue in Year 2+.

How much is 1 Mojo point worth?

About ₹0.20–₹0.25 depending on redemption; the ₹0.40 statement-credit rate ended on 1 June 2025. Statement credit and Amazon vouchers usually at the lower end; catalogue travel bookings at the higher end.

Is the joining fee really waived on ₹30K spend?

Yes — ₹30,000 spend within the first 90 days of card issuance waives the full ₹1,000 joining fee. Easy threshold.

What earns zero Mojo points?

Fuel, cash advance, wallet loads, rent payments typically earn zero. Utilities typically earn 1 Mojo per ₹100.

Are the lounges really unconditional?

No — since 1 June 2025 you must spend ₹75,000 in a calendar quarter to unlock 2 visits in the next quarter. This is unusual at ₹1K fee tier where most cards require ₹50-75K prior-quarter spend.

Do Mojo points expire?

Yes — typically 2-3 years from earn date per Kotak policy. Check current T&C.

Can I upgrade Mojo Platinum to Urbane Gold or Privy?

Yes — Kotak allows horizontal upgrade. Tenure and Mojo balance carry over.
