HDFC has notified BizPower product feature changes via the BizPower Change Notice. Effective 15 May 2026: base earn moves to 5 RP per ₹200 on all spends except fuel / wallet / education / rent / EMI; accelerated 5X earning is capped at 7,500 RP per billing cycle; reward points on GST and IT payments are limited to the first 2 IT + first 2 GST transactions per cycle. Effective 1 Jul 2026 (from the Jul–Sep quarter): travel benefits become milestone-gated — 2 domestic lounge visits + 1 MakeMyTrip flight cancellation voucher per quarter, unlocked by ₹75,000 spend in the preceding calendar quarter. The quarterly retail-spend voucher also changes — to ₹5,000 on ₹2.5 lakh quarterly spend (up from ₹2,500). See "Upcoming changes" detail below.
What we like
  • 5X RP on select business spends (Google Ads, Meta Ads, Reliance Digital, MMT MyBiz, GST/IT, PayZapp/SmartPay, Nuclei tools)
  • 6 international lounge visits a year via Priority Pass, plus 2 domestic visits a quarter (domestic visits need ₹75,000 spend in the previous quarter since July 2026)
  • 55 days interest-free credit period (longer than the standard 45-50 day window)
  • Welcome benefit: ₹1,500 Amazon voucher OR Amazon Prime (1 yr) + Biz Prime (6 mo) on first online txn within 30 days. Effective 25 Oct 2025: applies only to first-time cardholders; not for conversions/migrations/upgrades.
  • Quarterly milestone: ₹5,000 MakeMyTrip / Reliance Digital voucher on ₹2.5 lakh quarterly spend (excl. fuel, IT, GST, EMI). Raised from ₹2,500 on 1 Jul 2026.
  • Renewal fee waiver on ₹4 lakh annual spend (issuer-confirmed).
Watch out for
  • Reward changes (since 15 May 2026): base rate moved from 4 RP/₹150 to 5 RP/₹200 (about 1.25% at ₹0.50 per point on SmartBuy) — a small uplift; the accelerated cap rose from 5,000 to 7,500 RP per billing cycleDomestic
  • lounge access is spend-gated (since July 2026): cardholders spending under ₹75,000 a quarter lose domestic visits
  • GST/IT cap (15 May 2026): only first 2 IT + first 2 GST transactions per cycle earn RP; further bulk-tax payments earn nothing
  • No golf programme
  • Forex markup is 2% (1.75% on rupee payments to overseas-registered merchants)
  • The bundled "Business Insurance package" is a paid add-on at ~₹3,785/year, not free — older marketing copy that bundled these benefits has been replaced

From 15 May 2026 (per the BizPower Change PDF): base earn becomes 5 RP per ₹200 on all spends except fuel / wallet / education / rent / EMI. Accelerated 5X categories continue, but combined accelerated earning is capped at 7,500 Reward Points per billing cycle — and the 5X tier is now unlocked only when you spend ₹25,000+ in non-tax spends in a cycle (once unlocked, GST and Advance Tax spends also earn the accelerated rate, subject to the cap below).

Fair-usage cap on GST and Advance Tax (from 15 May 2026): 5 RP per ₹200 is awarded only on the first 2 IT transactions and first 2 GST transactions in each billing cycle. Anything beyond that earns zero RP — explicitly stated to "safeguard rewards for meaningful business usage".

Who the HDFC BizPower is for

Use this if you book business travel regularly via online channels and want a step-up card from the starter tier. The sweet-spot volume is ₹2-4L/month on a mix of retail + travel.

Final verdict

BizPower is the default mid-tier HDFC business card and a sensible upgrade from BizFirst. You get meaningful lounge access and real SmartBuy rewards without stepping up to the ₹10K BizBlack. If you do not book travel via HDFC channels, the practical base reward is about 1.25% (5 RP per ₹200 at ₹0.50 per point) — decent but not class-leading.
