Jump to section
TL;DR
AURUM is SBI Card’s top card. Its value does not come from the base reward rate — 4 points per ₹100 is only about 1% — but from spend-linked vouchers: ₹1,500 every month you spend ₹1 lakh, plus vouchers of ₹5,000, ₹10,000, ₹9,999 and ₹20,000 at ₹5, 10, 12 and 20 lakh of yearly spend. Add unlimited international lounge visits, golf, monthly movie tickets and a 1.99% forex markup, and it suits people who put ₹1 lakh+ a month on one card. Below that, most of the value never unlocks.
Pros & cons
- Monthly ₹1,500 voucher for every month with ₹1 lakh spend — up to ₹18,000 a year

- Base earn of about 1% is weak for a ₹9,999 card
- Most value needs ₹1 lakh a month of spending

Verdict
AURUM is a voucher-and-lifestyle card dressed as a premium rewards card. At ₹1 lakh a month of spending it returns roughly 4–5% in points and vouchers plus strong travel benefits, which is competitive. At lower spending it is an expensive 1% card. Be honest about your monthly spend before you apply.
